Michael Russell (sozzled)
Position: Site Founder

In a nutshell, his career in Information Technology spans over 40 years, nearly all of that working in various Australian Government departments and agencies. For the last 15 years of that time, he’s had a keen interest in developing intranet sites and this naturally evolved into the Internet space. His experience covered most activities in the IT field: systems analysis and design, programming, testing, project management, customer relationship management, knowledge management—you name it and he’s probably had something to do with it (or he managed teams of people who had the subject-matter skills).
He retired from the workforce in January 2007 and, if he thought he was busy when he was working, he’s been busier now than ever—mostly he’s busy having a great time!
When he’s not thinking about world events, Australian politics or making sure he’s not far away from coffee, Michael is involved in helping people make the best use of Joomla.
Having problems with Joomla?
Do you need personal advice about Joomla-related problems? Often the easiest way to look at what problems you may be having with your website is to sit down and talk about them over a cup of coffee. I have helped hundreds of people who felt lost or let down by the Joomla community and, simply by gaining an understanding of what’s going on, people are usually able to resolve those problems or, at the very least, they know what to do next. If you would like to talk with me, one on one and in real time via videoconference, we can do that subject to a few conditions.
- I use Skype for videoconferencing. I do not use Zoom, Google Meet, Team Viewer, etc. Please do not ask me to use an alternative to Skype; I will not use it.
- You must be able to understand spoken English. It is not necessary for you to have a camera but it is necessary that you are able to hear me and that I can hear you.
- My objective is to assist you so that you can resolve problems you are having with upgrading or migrating Joomla from one version to another. I do not charge anything to discuss matters via videoconferences. I do not guarantee that I will be able to resolve all of your technical problems. I do not give any refund on any payment that you may send to me.
- I have a life, too, you know. I am available to discuss Joomla-related problems between 08:00 to 18:00 Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC +10H) or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (UTC +11H) depending on whether daylight savings is in effect.
If this sounds like something you could use then please contact me by email and we will arrange a time that suits us both. My details (including my email address and Skype username) are available by downloading the form in the link on the right of this page.
In order to protect myself against spam and other wastes of time, you will need to have an active subscription in order to login to this website in order to view the download link to the document. I’m sorry that I have to put up a paywall in order to download a form but that’s just something one has to accept; but there is the added bonus that, by paying the small subscription fee upfront, you can download any or all of the extensions that I also offer for downloading (if you’re interested). I look forward to hearing from you.
